Stamford, CT – Laurel House, Inc. will recognize Rey Giallongo and Cheryl Palmer as the Stamford Town Champions at its annual fundraiser, An Evening with Laurel House, on Saturday, April 27th at the Delmar, Greenwich Harbor.
Rey is Chairman and CEO, First County Bank, a community bank headquartered in Stamford operating 17 branches with assets of $1.7 billion. He also serves as President of the First County Bank Foundation. Rey is former Chairman and member of the Board of Commissioners of the Stamford Downtown Special Services District, former Chairman of the Board of the Business Council of Fairfield County and currently serves as a Board Member of the Housing Development Fund.
Cheryl currently serves as an Independent Director for B&G Foods, Inc. where she chairs the company’s Enterprise Risk Committee and is a member of both the Compensation and Nominating & Governance committees. She is former Chief Revenue Officer for Club Quarters, LLC, a privately held chain of hotels in major metro markets throughout the US., former President of The Food Emporium chain of supermarkets owned by A&P and former A&P Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Strategy.
Rey Giallongo and Cheryl Palmer are being recognized for over 30 years of volunteer work around Fairfield County. Rey and Cheryl both volunteered at Puppies Behind Bars, socializing service dogs in training; and have both been active Event Committee Chairs for Laurel House and the Mill River Collaborative.
The other Town Champions being recognized are: Nancy C. Herling, former Director, Post 53, DarienTown Champion; Adrianne C. Singer, former President & CEO YWCA Greenwich, Greenwich Town Champion; and Paul Reinhardt, Founder, New Canaan Parent Support Group, New Canaan Town Champion. Laurel House will also be honoring Andrew J. Gerber, MD, PhD, President and Medical Director of Silver Hill Hospital as its 2019 Champion for Recovery. Julie Barrett Andersen of Wilton and Sheilah Smith of Greenwich are the 2019 Event Co-Chairs. Comedian Jane Condon will be the Emcee for the evening.
An Evening with Laurel House includes live and silent auctions, dinner and dancing, and is Laurel House’s largest fundraiser.
