Laurel House, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, provides mental health services and programs in Norwalk, CT and the surrounding areas in lower Fairfield County. Laurel House helps individuals and their families achieve and sustain mental health recovery.
Our services for Norwalk, CT residents are offered through one-on-one meetings in the community or at our Resource Center in Stamford, CT. Programs and services include recovery planning, life skills coaching and skill building, supported education, supported employment, Thinking Well (cognitive remediation), housing and residential services, food service and wellness, social opportunities, and active outreach to individuals who might otherwise be isolated. Laurel House actively collaborates with Norwalk Community College through their service learning program. Numerous Laurel House supported education program participants are students at NCC and have graduated from NCC. We have standing supported education office hours on the Norwalk Community College East Campus. We have worked with Family and Children’s Agency Homeless Services to provide employment support. Our participants in supported employment have been hired by local organizations such as Bow-Tie Cinema, Maritime Aquarium, Norwalk Hospital and Old Navy, and volunteer with organizations such as the Norwalk Library.
